As we look back on the growth of Cruncho over the years, we are filled with a sense of pride and gratitude. From a business idea derived by our CEO Lionel in 2015 to the thriving platform we have today, it's been a journey of hard work, determination, and consistent innovation. Today, we want to share our story with you, highlighting the pivotal moments and achievements that have made Cruncho what it is today.

The Spark - 2015

The journey began in 2015 when Lionel, inspired by his work on an Air France KLM product called Dream Catcher, incorporated Cruncho. This marked the birth of our initial concept and the foundation of our company.

Prototyping & Funding - 2016

2016 was all about building. Prototypes were being developed as we worked tirelessly to bring our ideas to life. We were on a mission to create an innovative solution for hyperlocal content.

Strengthening Our Core - 2017

The year 2017 marked significant milestones for Cruncho. Our team grew with the hiring of our CTO, marking the beginning of a powerful tech foundation. Our hard work attracted a seed round investment, providing the necessary funding for product production. Recognition came our way when we were awarded the Connect Sweden Entrepreneur of the Year and a Vinnova-IBM Innovation prize. These awards validated our efforts and propelled us forward.

Refinement & Launch - 2018

By 2018, we had refined our customer discovery and strengthened our team with a UX/UI Designer. This year saw the launch of Cruncho Guides, our first step towards becoming a comprehensive platform for local discovery.

Expansion & Growth - 2019

In 2019, we received another seed round investment and added a Business Development Manager (hey Jenny) to our team in order to build well-structured processes and outreach strategies. This year was about growth, improving the platform, and bringing onboard new clients, starting in Sweden and quickly expanding to the rest of Europe.

Resilience Amid Challenges - 2020

While COVID-19 brought an unexpected halt to our sales in 2020, we used the slowdown as an opportunity. We focused on product improvement and developed Cruncho Events, supported by another seed round investment. This time solidified our resilience and determination.

Recognition & Recovery - 2021

2021 was a year of recovery and recognition. We launched Cruncho Events and were awarded the EU Stars4Media Innovation prize and the Nordic Innovation prize. We were also named one of the top 10 Most Innovative 2022 Tourism Startups in France by Atout France. Thanks to another seed round, we expanded our team, regained traction, onboarded new clients in more markets, and introduced the fun-filled Cruncho Quiz feature.

Present & Future - 2022 and Beyond

As we moved into 2022 and 2023, our focus remains on the continual development of Cruncho products. We are committed to adding more value to our customers and achieving sustainable growth. Today, we take pride in our journey, and we're excited about the future that lies ahead.

Our story isn't just about the successes, the awards, or the products. It's a testament to the power of hard work, the courage to innovate, and the determination to bring a vision to life.
