That’s what Lund - a historic, bustling 130,000 inhabitants town in southern Sweden - set out to achieve in 2021 with Cruncho. By partnering with Cruncho, the Municipality of Lund (Lund) and Visit Lund (the city’s Destination Marketing Organization) embarked on a journey to completely reinvent their event calendar and make city events easier to find, manage, and attend.

‍Challenge: A clunky, high-maintenance system

Before Cruncho, Lund and Visit Lund were facing an uphill battle. Their previous event system required organizers to submit events through a static form, which led to endless manual work for the administrative team. Incorrect formats, missing details, and repetitive entries made the experience frustrating for both organizers and admins. Beyond these hurdles, the calendar lacked essential features. Recurring events, multiple dates, and visual appeal were all problematic. What’s more, the team’s hope of automatically pulling events from other sources was dashed when this functionality failed to work properly. It became clear - a better solution was essential.
